Pershore is the place to go this morning, Thursday, to a concert in Pershore Abbey and later to an event for children:
On Friday morning, the destination will be Madresfield Court:
The Court originates from the 15th century and has been considerably restored and added to over the centuries, particularly during the 19th century, when the Long Gallery, where the concert is taking place, was rebuilt. The rebuilding included the addition of a bay window. The chimney piece in the Gallery is dated 1610 and comes from a farmhouse in Gloucestershire.
The late night concert on Friday and also the afternoon concert on Saturday are at All Saints Church in Worcester:
The church is set in a prominent position on the city side of Worcester Bridge and its parish was once the largest in Worcester. The present church was built in 1742. Valentine Green likes this church too for its light, describing it as having ‘a good light’ and saying that it ‘makes a handsome and decent appearance’. All Saints is a popular and active church.
